Annual Statement of Accounts for 2010

The financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 continues to affect the finances of the Threshold  Foundation. After one of our larger investments proved to be a “rotten bond” in 2009, we had to deal with the loss of another large securities investment in 2010. Considerable losses in interest are intensified by low interest rates according to which we have to reinvest bonds presently maturing. Both of these factors significantly reduce the Threshold Foundations´ possibilities for action. After intensive negotiations with our house bank one the one hand and thanks to additional donations from the circle of donation families on the other, we were able to keep our losses to an acceptable limit. Therefore, we are able to approximately maintain the scope of our activities, but are not presently able to expand it.

In 2010 we spent 143,000 € on our own projects, 59,000€ on our cooperative projects and 23,000 € on funded projects.
